FOUR PLEIN-AIRE PAINTING WORKSHOPS FOR 2010: THREE PLEIN-AIRE BOOTCAMPS: Both experienced and beginning painters are welcome and willl benefit from any of these workshops. Our home base will be my studio, Studio 10/46 right in the town of Taos. We will be painting outdoors each morning and evening, with critiques happening during midday breaks. Painting sessions will begin with simple breathing and movement to center and ground our energies. Our itinerary will include traveling 1-15 miles to great painting sites around Taos. Leigh will do many demonstration at each location and will be on hand to coach each student with composition, use of color, mediium, technique, and personal perception! All three sessions will culminate with an informal show and reception of the students work Saturday morning in Studio 10/46. PAINTING YOUR OWN BACKYARD RETREAT: CANCELLED Join Leigh for this special plein-aire workshop to be held at Southern Methodist University in Taos' Fort Burgwin Campus. Relax and remain on campus in dorm lodging and enjoy three fabulous meals a day, all included in tuition! Fort Burgwin is nestled in the foothills of National Forest land yet is only 5 miles outside of the town of Taos. Our days will include some body and breathing practices to prepare ourselves for painting. We will learn to make strong compositions from simple landscapes to improve your ability to paint your surroundings-anywhere- with confidence.
